Have you ever posted an Instagram Reel and realized some of your text is hiding behind the Like button or other elements on the screen?
It can be hard to tell exactly where your text will land while you’re creating the Reel. Something can look perfectly placed while you’re editing, then become harder to read once the Reel is posted.
If you use Instagram’s Edits app, there is a simple way to keep text from getting covered on Instagram Reels. Edits has two settings that show you where the safe area of your screen is while you’re working.
Use Frames and Guides in the Edits app
In this video, I’ll show you where to find the Frames and Guides settings inside Edits and what happens when you turn them on.
Once they’re enabled, you’ll see a pale yellow boundary on your video. Think of it as a little map showing you where to place the important parts of your Reel, including your text and design elements. Keeping those elements inside the boundary helps prevent them from being blocked when your Reel is viewed on Instagram.
This is especially useful if you’ve ever wondered why your text looked fine while you were editing but ended up sitting underneath a button after you posted.
There is one small catch: you’ll need to turn Frames and Guides on each time you use them.
