If you’re tired of putting time into social media without knowing whether the people seeing your posts are actually interested in your business, Substack may be worth a closer look.
The big question isn’t whether Substack can get you more views. It’s whether the people who find you there are more likely to read your ideas, spend time with your content, and eventually want to work with you.
So, is Substack better than social media for your business? In this video, I look at my own website traffic to see what happened when people arrived from Substack compared with sources such as Instagram, Facebook, paid ads, and Google.
And the difference was hard to ignore.
Can Substack Bring You More Qualified Leads?
One of the problems with social media is that a follow, like, or quick view doesn’t necessarily mean someone knows enough about you to become a client.
Longer-form content gives people more time to understand how you think, what you teach, and whether your work is right for them.
That’s what made my Google Analytics numbers interesting. During the period I reviewed, visitors coming directly from Substack spent an average of 2 minutes and 53 seconds engaged with my website. Visitors from Substack email averaged 1 minute and 55 seconds. Instagram social traffic averaged just 12 seconds.
That doesn’t mean you should automatically abandon Instagram or Facebook. But if social media is taking a lot of your time and you’re looking for another way to build trust and bring interested people back to your website, this video will show you why I’m paying much closer attention to Substack.
