I’m just back from a heavenly long weekend in Florida with my daughter. Beach, sun, sand, and reading (fiction: Circe by Madeline Miller and non-fiction: Building a StoryBrand by Donald Miller). I can tell you that I spent about six hours staring at the ocean in total. Yes, it was heavenly. I listened to her pounding surf. I breathed in her salty air. I pondered. I imagined. I dreamed.
When was the last time you gave yourself permission to think? To stare into space and just let your mind wander?
It’s likely not a surprise to you that my mind wandered to my business. I thought about who I’ve served so well in the past few years. I thought about who I most want to help in the future.
Three things became very clear to me during my weekend.
- I want to tap into my teacher more. Educate.
- I’m longing to help more women feel the significant power of collaboration over competition. Elevate.
- I want all the women in my community to embody the mindset that they truly can do anything they want. Activate.
Those three words: educate, elevate, and activate are going to amongst the themes I intend to talk about in the coming months.
Here’s what I don’t know though: what is it that you feel I can teach you?
I’m going to share a little backstory here. I’m a big believer that the universe shows us signs. If you’re still here, I have a hunch you believe in signs too. They’re always there but we might not notice them because our minds are too full. This weekend I kept seeing white butterflies everywhere. Then I started seeing monarch butterflies. Then I got swarmed by dragonflies while walking. There is a message for me in this and one I’ve not quite clarified. I still need to process and journal and feel.
One thing that I did become aware of though is that it’s been quite some time since I asked you what you needed.
It occurred to me that I haven’t done any significant market research lately.
