You can clean those sections up in CapCut without having to re-record your video. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to remove silences in CapCut using both the desktop app and the iPhone app.
This is especially helpful if you’re editing yourself speaking on camera and want to tighten up the video while keeping your voice properly synced with your lips. The tricky part is that your video and audio need to be edited together. If you delete or move one without the other, they can fall out of sync.
The method shown in this video uses CapCut’s Extract Audio feature, which Krista notes requires CapCut Pro.
How do you remove silent parts of a video in CapCut?
The basic process is similar whether you’re working on your computer or your phone.
You’ll learn how to separate the audio from your video, zoom in so you can spot the quiet sections, and use CapCut’s Split tool to remove the parts you don’t want. I also show you what to do with the audio afterward so your voice stays lined up with the video.
