If you’ve been using ChatGPT and thinking, “Why are the answers not as good as they used to be?” you may not need a better AI tool. You may need to change how you’re working with it.
ChatGPT can give you something that sounds perfectly fine on the first try. But “fine” isn’t always useful, specific, or something you’d actually want to publish. And if you keep accepting those first answers, ChatGPT doesn’t get much help understanding what you really want.
In this video, I show you how to get better results from ChatGPT by giving it clearer direction before it starts and then working with its response instead of treating that first answer as the finished product.
Why ChatGPT’s first answer may not be your best answer
One of the biggest mistakes you can make is expecting ChatGPT to know exactly what you want when you haven’t given it enough information.
The better approach is to treat it more like someone you’re working with. Give it context. Tell it what kind of help you need. Let it ask for missing information. Then keep refining the response by telling it what you like, what you don’t like, and what needs to change.
I’ll also show you how I use ChatGPT’s memory after I’ve created something I’m really happy with, so it can learn more about the tone, style, and pace I prefer.
If you’re frustrated by generic ChatGPT answers or spending too much time rewriting what it gives you, watch the video. A few small changes to the way you prompt and respond can make the whole process more useful.
