I wish I had a dollar for every time I get asked this question. So many of you struggle with understanding how to share links on Instagram.
The problem arises when you try to add a link to the caption of your post and once published, you discover you can’t actually click on the link.
Here’s the thing: Instagram actually doesn’t allow you to have a link in your feed posts. Why? Well first, let’s understand how Instagram makes money.
Instagram makes money by serving up people ads and the longer they can keep people on the Instagram platform, the more revenue they can create. So it makes sense that they don’t want to encourage people to click away from their platform.
It’s a revenue cycle: Instagram (or Meta) want to keep users on the platform because the more people that use the app, the more people see ads, the more people click and spend money on those ads, and that is big revenue dollars for them.
If you can’t link in a post, how the heck CAN you share links on Instagram?
There are lots of different places other than your feed to actually put content inside of Instagram. And I’m going to be showing you a couple of those today and showing you how to easily link to multiple places!
